Private tutor in Ithaca, NY
Education
Graduate student in physics at Cornell University. Graduated with a B.S. in physics (summa cum laude) and a B.S. in mechanical engineering (summa cum laude) in 2013 with a cumulative GPA of 3.97.
Experience
I worked in a variety of teaching environments while I was at RIT. I first started in a drop-in tutoring center at the end of my freshman year. I tutored students in any subject in math and physics at the introductory undergraduate level. Later in my third year, I became a teaching assistant for the introductory physics courses designed for physics and engineering students. I came to love tutoring so much that I continued the two teaching jobs all the way until the last semester that I was on campus. I greatly appreciated the diversity of the student body. As a result, I have become very adaptive towards each individual student's learning style. I love the moments when a student understands a concept from a few different viewpoint. I enjoy learning new things and let my curiosity take me to places that I didn't know of before, and I would love to share that with my students! As of now, I am not sure if I will stay in academia, but I would like to keep that option open. Being a tutor would add a significant weight to my teaching portfolio. I look forward to working with high school and undergraduate students on any subjects in math, physics, and mechanical engineering. If you are interested in my other experiences that are not particularly related to teaching, I would be happy to send you my CV!
